04.11.2024

In line with Türkiye's national goals for increasing self-sufficiency in the defense industry, TAAC Aerospace Technologies and Netaş have signed a strategic cooperation agreement. This partnership aims to develop high-tech, mission-critical systems for the defense and aerospace sectors using domestic capabilities.

A New Step Toward Localization and Technological Independence

Through this collaboration, both parties aim to reduce foreign dependency in Türkiye's defense sector and increase the rate of domestic production. The agreement particularly focuses on the development of landing gear systems, flight control actuators, and advanced test platforms for major national defense programs such as KAAN and HÜRJET.

“A Partnership That Will Strengthen TAAC Further”

Enis Ata, Member of the Board of Altınay Defense Technologies and General Manager of TAAC, shared the following remarks regarding the signing held during SAHA EXPO:

“After the strategic move with DASAL, we are pleased to take a similar step with TAAC. Despite being a young company, our diverse product portfolio has positioned us to meet demands not only in Türkiye but also in global markets. This partnership with Netaş marks a critical milestone in addressing the key needs of our defense industry with local solutions.”

TAAC’s Role in KAAN and HÜRJET

Ata noted that TAAC is responsible for developing the landing gear system for Türkiye’s National Combat Aircraft KAAN, and that the project has been progressing successfully within an ambitious timeline. Speaking about the HÜRJET Iron Bird Test System, he added:

“Iron Bird enables all subsystems of an aircraft to be tested on the ground under near-flight conditions. The pre-flight testing of HÜRJET, Türkiye’s first domestically developed jet trainer and light attack aircraft, was successfully completed using the Iron Bird system developed by TAAC engineers.”

Netaş: “Supporting Technological Sovereignty”

Sinan Dumlu, CEO of Netaş, also commented on the importance of the partnership:

“Collaborations like this not only support technological advancement in the defense sector but also contribute to Türkiye’s broader vision of technological sovereignty. We believe this alliance will also strengthen our country’s global competitiveness.”
