The Landing Gear System, developed and manufactured for the first time in Türkiye for the National Combat Aircraft (MMU) KAAN, features a tricycle configuration with a steerable nose landing gear and an integrated braking system. It is a retractable-type landing gear system designed to meet modern fighter aircraft requirements.
The main components of the Landing Gear System include struts and shock absorbers, tire, wheel, and brake assemblies, actuators, locking mechanisms, hydraulic manifolds, landing gear control panel, control units, position indication, and warning systems.
The purpose of developing the Landing Gear System is to provide a system that supports the weight of the aircraft, absorbs the forces generated during landing impact, enables deceleration, braking, and steering on the ground, and allows the landing gear to be deployed and retracted during flight.
